Hi, and welcome to my corner of the internet.

I'm Hakan. I studied electrical engineering at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, and I trade US equities for a living. When the market is closed, I spend most of my time reading across neuroscience, biology, history, and markets, looking for the same architecture in systems that don't seem to belong together. STILL came out of that habit, and this site is where the rest of it lives.

I write here because thinking out loud is how I figure things out. Some of what you'll find is finished, most of it isn't, and a few pieces will probably get rewritten the moment I learn something new. That feels like the honest way to do it.

One of my favorite things about this work is that I can do it from almost anywhere. I have written from cafés in Istanbul, quiet apartments in Lisbon, and my desk back home in Germany, and the small details of each new place always seem to find their way into what I end up writing.
